It was a good weekend.
My Mom called early last week to say they were planning a trip to see us this weekend. It ended up being super quick-Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon-but I'm so glad they could come! It's a busy spring for them as far as weekends go so it was either this quick trip now or wait until May.
On Saturday, my dad took Adrian for a walk and to the playground (thanks, Dad!!) and my mom cleaned the entire kitchen and vacuumed (thanks, Mom!!)
Jeanie was able to come but Dan had to stay home because he had a cold. My mom said he was so excited to stay with my brother Brad that he didn't seem to realize what he would be missing.
My mom joked a few times about Isaac being such a crabby baby. ;) He is honestly such a content baby. Adrian was too, hopefully this doesn't change! Isaac basically cries when he's hungry or needs to burp. And sometimes not even then. The other night he wouldn't burp for me and just as I was drifting back to sleep, he spit up all over himself and it somehow spewed onto the floor. He never cried once.
This was Jeff's weekend to work so he was only able to visit on Friday, they were gone by the time he got home on Saturday. Which means he also missed out on Easter morning and Adrian finding his basket. I almost forgot about the whole Easter Bunny thing with Isaac's arrival. We ended up picking up a little bit of candy and some stickers for his basket. These bunny finger puppets would have been fun but I didn't have everything on hand and I wasn't up for running to extra stores. Maybe next year! Adrian was thrilled regardless of how simple this Easter was.
He ate all of his candy before breakfast and his gum was all chewed by noon. Ah, well, at least he still has a few stickers left.
And you can see just how long this basket lasted...It was upside down on the floor and he thought he could stand on it. It happened before I had a chance to stop him. At least we got a few years out of it.
He looks pretty remorseful, huh?

hiking with 2-year-olds
I've been avoiding posting just so I wouldn't type out a big complaint about how lousy I've been feeling. Since it's basically unavoidable, I'll just get it out really quick...I've had a cold for over a week and when I was getting to the point of whentheheckwillthistupidcoldgoaway?! I got another one. The first one was coughing, sore throat, lots and lots of phlegm (your welcome) and this one is more in my head...no, not like I'm making it up, come over here and I'll show you. Kidding, but really, I have a runny nose and my head feels all cloudy and I'm positively exhausted. I have a pot of chicken noodle soup simmering on the stove right now and even though it doesn't sound that tasty at the moment, I can't wait to eat it. There's nothing like hot soup when you feel like crap.
I was obviously feeling quite a bit better on Wednesday--even though I had that other stupid cold at that time--when the twinners were here.
Kaitlin and Gretchen came down on Tuesday night and we made plans to go hiking. Or I made plans to go hiking. Now that I think about it, I don't even know if they were remotely interested.
We went to Sugarloaf which is the easiest hiking trail I know of. Kendall only had flip-flops so we all ended up wearing flip-flops.
It was a perfectly beautiful day and there are lookout points on the top but we didn't end up staying long since all of us were getting hungry for lunch.
This was my first time letting Adrian walk up on his own and he did great! Actually, both kids were pretty awesome.
Gotta love self-timer shots!
Kendall had some mud on her leg so she held her shorts up on the way down.
We finished up and then went to Border Grill for lunch. Yum! I'm so glad my sisters were able to make it down for a visit!

A Few Visitors
My sister Gretchen stopped by on her way up north the other day. Dan and Jean were tagging along and they all spent the night. Yay for us! We love to get visitors! It was really hot in our apartment so we had the grand idea to go to Lake Superior to swim. (It was only 70 out there at 8:00 but the water was pretty warm.) Since we had to take two vehicles and I wasn't ready to leave yet anyways, Jeff took Danny to his work before heading to the lake. The next morning (Jeff was working) Danny told me about 4 times, "Make sure you tell Jeff I said 'Thank-you' for taking me to his work. It was so cool, I could just stay in those airplanes forever! I could sleep in there!" He now has grand plans to move up north and work at the airport with Jeff. "I can work there and help Jeff. I can hand him his tools back. And then I can move in with you guys and live here." Yeah...about that...Needless to say, he thought it was pretty cool to check out all those planes.
I had a dentist appointment the next morning so the kids babysat Adrian. Boy was that nice! :) I had planned on bringing him to a friend's house but that was much easier to be able to walk out the door!
Thanks again for stopping by Gretchen, Jeanie and Danny! We LOVE when people stop in ESPECIALLY our family...nudge, nudge. ;)
(These pictures are from another evening swim in the 'The Lake' after one of Jeff's softball games.)

Meeting the (maternal) Grands
My Mom and Dad made it up here this past weekend to see their 15th grandchild. Emily and Amanda came down for the day and Brett was able to stop by for a little bit on his way (moving) up north. I feel like we've had more company in the past month than we've had in a year! It's been so nice to see everyone and visit. I do have to say, however, that it will be nice to have a few quiet days before we head out for another busy weekend!

Meeting the [paternal] Grands
Adrian's Grandma and Grandpa L came to visit and meet the little guy for the first time. I had been hoping to get a picture of them with their first grandchild but, it never happened. Something about Grandma's hair and we'll get one when we go camping next weekend.
To which Auntie Katie replies, "Why? It will just look way worse camping!"
Enjoy your day! The sun is finally showing it's face for the first time today. We did need that rain though.

Thank-you!
Thanks to everyone who made it to my baby shower on Monday! And a special thanks to Kate for making it happen! We appreciate it so much! It was so fun to get all that cute little baby stuff that we'll be using in just a few weeks!

I was so glad to see nearly all of the girls in the family, both sides in fact! We were just missing Jennifer and Larissa. I wish they could have been there but I was thrilled to see the majority regardless!

We had a house full that night with Sara and her kids as well as my Mom and the rest of my sisters that were with her (minus Gretch, who went the rest of the way up). I don't think we've ever had that many people stay over at once! I either slept very deeply that night or everyone went to sleep and stayed asleep. Hopefully it went as well as it seemed!

(The first two pictures are from my Mom's blog. I gave my camera to my sister to take pictures at the shower but I didn't realize I still had it set for fireworks so they all turned out pretty dark.)

We moved!
We are officially moved into our new apartment! Did I even mention that we found one? It's been a while, I know. We've been so busy with packing and moving and then I got the flu thrown in there as well! We are loving our new apartment. It is warm!!
Jeff's parents are up here right now and we are thoroughly enjoying their company! I should have said I am enjoying it, poor Jeff had to work mandatory overtime all weekend. He didn't find that out until they were up here. I guess we shouldn't complain too much, at a time when thousands of people are getting laid off, Jeff has to work mandatory overtime! I am so thankful that his job is going so well right now.
The baby is doing good! I was a little worried after that flu but we had an appointment about a week afterwards and we were able to hear the heartbeat again which was very reassuring. And my belly is starting to grow!
We still don't have internet, but don't worry, it's coming! We just need to call Charter to hook it up and we'll be good to go!
