Farm Country

I seem to have taken an unintentional break from blogging! I guess I've been a little busy, just not for as long as I've been gone!

Jeff and I were able to make it to Minnesota's farm country to visit my sisters Jen and Sara and their families. We were able to see this little guy for the first time:

And this little lady happened to have a birthday when we were there:

As usual, I was not very good about taking out my camera, I always kick myself for that. It's so fun to see the kids growing up, they change so much in the time that we don't see them! Nikayda and Will are going into second grade this fall (is that right?) It feels like just yesterday that I was tying up the phone line to tell all my friends that Nikayda was "expected" and my Mom hadn't even finished calling all of her family!

Pretty soon I'll be saying "it feels like just yesterday when [insert name] was born," talking about my own child!

Order your cookbook now!!

I am now taking the official orders for the "408 Magnolia Lane" family cookbook. You can still order even if you didn't "pre-order." And you can order as many as you want! The cost will be $10.00 per book. It will be in a 3-ring binder type of cookbook (same company as the previous H. family cookbook). I'm really excited about that, I think the 3-ring binder will hold up much better than the plastic rings!

The deadline to order is June 6th. I also need your money by then. I will only submit your order if I have money from you on or before June 6th. Checks can be written out to my Mom, you can either email me for her address or I can collect since we will be going downstate that weekend anyway.

Order now! It's sure to have many tasty recipes!

I Spy...

Wet rocks and a river that bends twice,

a husband that is very nice.

A girl beginning a good read,

And an ant trekking through the weeds.

I just realized...

That I've been blogging for over two years now! How did that pass me by?

Actually, a lot seems to be passing me by lately with this major pregnancy brain going on.

I'm thinking about doing a mini baking day today. (Yes, I realized it is already past 4.) I keep thinking I should do that, one big mess, and one big clean-up.

I say "mini" because this is all I have planned so far:

Banana Bread
Potato Skins

Guess that's not much of a baking day is it?

And we're off again!

I think I've taken more trips this past year than I have in the last twenty years! And the most ironic part is that only one was on an airplane! I thought we'd be flying places every other weekend now that we have this deal with American Eagle. The reality is, when we take trips downstate, it's a lot easier to drive. It would take a lot longer to fly (there are no direct flights) and we would then have to rent a car.

I was realizing this today when we called up my sister's in Minnesota to say we will be going there next weekend.

Soo....we'll be gone yet another weekend. And here starts our summer! Beginning next weekend, we will be out of town every other weekend up until the closest we dare get to August 20!

Six Months

Help, my clothes are shrinking!

I had another appointment today and met the last doctor. So there should be no strangers in the delivery room. Okay, who am I kidding, I don't know any of the nurses!

It's hard to believe that I only have about three months to go. The end of summer sounds like a long way off but three months sure doesn't! Especially when nearly every weekend is already planned. The ones that Jeff has off anyway. Between St. John's, camping, and visiting the family, we're going to be parents before we know it!

Ding, Ding, Ding!

I am downstate!

It was kind of a last minute thing. (Thank-you Jill!) Or last hour thing? Jill K. (married to Ryan) was coming down this weekend so she asked if I wanted to tag along (to answer your question Heather). I got in just before midnight and didn't sleep well so I ended up sleeping til nearly 10 (to answer your question Sharyn).

Larrisa and I (and it sounds like Mom too!) are going to run to some garage sales in the morning so wish us luck! May we find sweet stuff for real cheap!

Where am I?

Here's a hint, I saw this last night (and I can still see it today).

How did THAT happen?

A friend asked yesterday, "So, have you had to buy any maternity pants yet?" And I foolishly replied, "No, not yet. I have two pairs of jeans that I can still button so I might not have to even if I can't button them by the end."

And today as I was washing clothes, I picked up a pair of jeans...and realized that they were the smaller pair that don't button. That could only mean...I looked down...yup, I'm wearing the pair that "I can still button" and guess what?

I can't button them.

Swine Flu, shwine flu

Sooo, Jeff was saying that he heard the price of pork would probably be dropping with this swine flu scare. So if that happens, the only thing I'll be wishing for is a bigger freezer!
