I think I may have ruined my non-stick electric skillet. How do you get that sticky greasy residue off? I'm guessing a scotch-brite pad wasn't the correct answer.
No, jessica is still in the same house. i just havnt seen it yet. and we just use super hot water and dishsoap, and it works out. elbow grease baby, its all about the elbow grease!
I am impatient, and get frustrated when cleaning a pan takes too long. So, I opt for those Brillo? pads (the ones that are steel wool with blue stuff in them and come in a yellow box), or Barkeeper's friend or similar slightly gritty cleanser.
After getting it clean, you can use high temp spray oil (comes next to the regular Pam). It's meant for use with higher temps and doesn't leave that brown residue. Heidi
I don't think steel wool should be used on 'nonstick surfaces'... ;) Right..? I could be wrong, but I'm thinking not...
That goopy sticky stuff that doesn't come off with elbow grease will come right off with Dawn Power Dissolver and you can use it on most surfaces. It's sold by the dishsoap, if your store carries it. (W*l-M*rt usually does.) Just follow the directions and don't leave it on longer than is recommended.
