Cookbooks have been shipped!

They should arrive within the week. However...I'll have to let you know when I receive my orders for this area (all U.P. orders are shipped to Emily).

I'm so excited!!

Meeting the (maternal) Grands

My Mom and Dad made it up here this past weekend to see their 15th grandchild. Emily and Amanda came down for the day and Brett was able to stop by for a little bit on his way (moving) up north. I feel like we've had more company in the past month than we've had in a year! It's been so nice to see everyone and visit. I do have to say, however, that it will be nice to have a few quiet days before we head out for another busy weekend!

Meeting the [paternal] Grands

Adrian's Grandma and Grandpa L came to visit and meet the little guy for the first time. I had been hoping to get a picture of them with their first grandchild but, it never happened. Something about Grandma's hair and we'll get one when we go camping next weekend.

To which Auntie Katie replies, "Why? It will just look way worse camping!"

Enjoy your day! The sun is finally showing it's face for the first time today. We did need that rain though.

His eyes are open!

I realized that Adrian is sleeping in all the pictures I've posted so far. I just wanted to reassure you that he has since "opened his eyes." (Family story there.)

During his one week check-up the Doctor said we had a strong boy. I believe it. When you lay him on his back, he tends to stick his feet up or out and then proceeds to hold them there. He's going to have a six-pack before he's a month old!

I am quickly realizing that all the pictures we have are on the couch. I've been wanting to get out and walk but the weather has been pretty cool and cloudy. It's sunny today so hopefully we can squeeze in a walk and try out our stroller before Jeff goes to work!

A dark and early breakfast

I have long since heard of this time called 5am. Apparently it is a time when the land is still dark and the sun has not risen. It is also rumored to be a time when babies like to eat. I wasn't really even sure if such a time existed.

Now I know.

Catching some Rays

Per the doctor's orders.

I put him on his back and he always seems to find his side.

And then his hands find his face...

...as if he's looking for something to snuggle.

Now just think of how cute this would be without the pacifier.

And he was fine at first, just trying to find his fingers...

But then not so fine when he couldn't quite get them.

And then Mom felt bad so she gave him his pacifier again. And he clung to it for dear life.

My Skin is Crawling...

So, you remember when I was talking about the spiders outside my window? Of course you do, that was the last thing I posted about! Well, I have an update for anyone interested. :)

We have a hole in the screen of one of the two windows. Or so I thought. I put a note in with our rent money to get it fixed but nothing has happened yet. (I also put it on the walk-thru form that was sent back to our landlord when we moved in.) Apparently there are holes in both screens. I left one window open Thursday night (the one that "didn't" have the hole) and woke up the next morning to a few spider webs inside! So I quick, vacuumed them up and found about three spiders in the process, luckily they were all pretty small. So, I've been keeping both windows closed. Until today that is. It was so hot and humid in here so I gave in and opened the window (after a careful inspection to see if there were any spiders lurking on the inside). WELL, it had been opened for a few hours and I decided to check up on it and sure enough, there was a big ol' spider inside the screen, so I closed that old window. BUT THEN! I happened to glance up at the ceiling and saw that big nasty one, in the picture, building a web RIGHT ABOVE THE CHAIR I HAD BEEN SITTING IN!!!

Now I'm just wondering, do spiders die in the vacuum clean or should I keep an eye on that too??

Oh, I am so grossed out!

Oh, and BTW, it is HOT in here!

Spiders for Sale

I just counted 8 spiders outside my living room window. They seem to be building a web over the entire window (it's quite large), pretty soon I'll have only darkness. And the strangest part, they all seem to be different. And now that I think of it, I think there are big webs with spiders outside both of the windows in my bedroom too. They must be planning something...It just figures it would happen to me. As many of you know, and some of you may not, I am quite afraid of spiders. My fear has subsided a bit over the years but I still can't help but shudder a little when I see those creepy crawlies climbing around. And guess what?? We live on the second floor so how am I supposed to knock those webs down? Because let me tell you, I am NOT about to take out my screens and do it...{shudder} I can (barely) manage with them outside, but inside, well that's a whole 'nother story!

I googled how to get rid of them with what I have around the house but, of course, I don't seem to have what other people have, and I can't really get out there to wash the outside of the windows either.

Any suggestions?

I'm scared.

Apparently I only post when...

...I go blueberry picking. I went with Jill tonight (thanks Jill!) and got a few more than last time. The place we went to seemed to be a better place than the last one but she claimed that it wasn't even as good as last year! I need to go again soon, I ate almost all of the berries I picked last week! I can't resist, they are like candy to me when they're frozen!

My due date is sneaking up on me! Two weeks from today. I keep thinking of things that I still need for this baby and I know that once it's here I'll realize even more that I need! I'm feeling a little clueless...I guess we'll figure it out eventually, everyone else seems to! :)
