I [heart] IKEA
I finally made it to IKEA today, I've been meaning to get out that way. I had the day off because we were pretty low today. Kayla and Cindy came with-Kayla also had the day off. It was quite successful, I bought (hopefully) all of my table decorations. I went back to the three different kinds of vases. They are all quite small so I may group them...I may not. Not really sure of anything yet, I'm trying to stay flexible. There was a set of three that I bought, they're not actually vases, not sure what they were for, but they remind me of Jen. I also bought a rug for the bathroom and one of those homemade looking rugs for in front of the sink--it was only $1.99! And washable! Tons of different colors, Cindy bought one too after we each dug around the pile for a while. *Sigh* I love that place. I love love love these chairs. They are small enough to make me feel like an adult. I also love that they are slipcovered. I know many people who don't like that look but I like the fact that they are washable and you can change the color easily.
And just for fun:
What do you like, or dislike, about IKEA?
Good night!

I Found these Darling Things...
In a Family Circle magazine and decided to make them myself! Unfortunatly I couldn't find the Sealah tape that they recommended so I used glue instead. I love them nonetheless! They are a Secret Santa gift for work.
Walk with Me Down Memory Lane
Remember elementary school? Middle school? High School? Leave a memory or two, or three. (Inspired by Amanda.) Here are some of mine:
I used to throw out my sandwiches too. Shoot, did I let that slip? Oh wait Mom already knows. For some reason, instead of being like Jen I wouldn't crumple my sandwich in my brown bag and throw it away, I would take it home and throw it under the porch. Well, it was bound to happen, Mom found the stash under the porch, still in their baggies. Needless to say she never packed me a sandwich again!
In second or third grade I had the starring role in a play. I was a black girl. I have no idea what the play was actually about, I don't think I ever did. I was however, very disappointed when we never performed in front of the school.
My second grade teacher Mrs. Hendersen was like Ms. Frizzle minus the magic school bus. She was the coolest teacher! She had a giant globe as tall as I was! With ridges and bumps and everything! She wore crazy clothes, shoes, and earrings to match our theme! She taught us how to say "May I please use the bathroom?" in French. I still remember! It sound like this: pwease ah lay ah twalet? She even had a Christmas party and we all got to go to here house! Actually I went the year after, she invited me and Brett who was in her class at the time. I remember that she had two Christmas trees, we decorated cookies, and there were watermelons all over her house!
Now it's your turn! Let's hear your stories!

Some Thanksgiving Day Fun
Jeff and I had turkey dinner with the L's. We were able to see Heather and Corey J which was nice. Heather does actually have a little belly contrary to what she told me. It's not very big, about as big as most people stomachs are normally but she has never had even a hint of a paunch. And now she does. :) She's excited though, she said she can't wait til its bigger. We came back to Mom and Dad's around 5 and stayed for the rest of the evening. We lost pretty badly in Rook playing against Paul and Amanda. We enjoyed some free entertainment as well, Dan was free styling and the boys were lifting everyone up like a half "airplane." I'll add pictures later, I need to go cut some hair. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Beautious Colors
After finally finding the fabric for my dress Marijane told Cindy and me to start looking for fabric for the bridesmaids. It took all of thirty seconds to find the perfect one, the fabric even matched with mine! Of course...there was only enough there for two dresses, so alas, I had to find something else. The women working there tried to help us find a similar fabric to order so meanwhile Marijane and I looked around for alternatives. I almost went with orangey-red! Cindy said it was pink. It was SO not pink. Rather pretty actually but not quite what I had invisioned for my wedding, I literally had to put my head down, close my eyes, and picture my wedding in a totally different color that I had planned! Marijane happened to point to a bronzey colored fabric to which I immediatly replied, "That would be Amanda's wedding, not mine! She likes neutrals, I need bright bold colors!" So my friends the color that I chose was....dun dun dun...wait for it...TEAL! (Or did you know all along?)

P.S. Matt: that doesn't mean he's ugly ;)

These are a Few of My Favorite Things...
1. Scrapbooking (duh)
This has been such a cool thing for me because it is the first time that I can truly say I'm good at something. Better yet? I'm a better scrapbooker than all of my friends and they know it (and I didn't even have to tell them). I hate to rub it in but come on! I just think of all those years attempting to play basketball, volleyball, baseball...
2. Picture Frames
My "projects." Most of my frames were bought at garage sales for a dollar or less. I usually just paint them one color and thats it. It would be fun to do a little more than that...
3. Trident gum-original flavor
The ONLY gum I ever buy, they even sell it at Costco!
4. Our Strawberry Blond Ice Cream "Creation" from Cold Stone
Yum! It has stawberry ice cream, real strawberries, graham crackers, caramel, and whipped cream. Delicious!
5.IKEA
It is my style inspiration for one day when Jeff and I own our own home. Bright vibrant colors and a modern, yet cozy, feel. I'm pretty sure I love everything there!
6. Smelling the Seasons
I love stepping outside and smelling that distinct change in season. It smelled like winter last night. Bring it on! That means my wedding is that much closer.
7. Brightly Colored Flowers
I absolutely love bright colors, mixing them together is even better. I was thinking of having pale yellow flowers for the wedding but now I'm going to put some other color in too.
8. Talking to Jeff on the way to work in the morning
Jeff calls every day as I'm walking to my car. Recently he's had to work at different buildings (he works for the city) so his times are slightly different or something and he hasn't been calling me too much. I never realized how much I enjoyed those early morning chats until he didn't call!
Have a great weekend!

Silly kids
A year ago summertime, I went to the Farmington Hills KinderCare center to work for two days. They needed extra help, someone was off or something, so I decided to step outside of my comfort level and work with people I had never met. A three-year-old boy started talking about cars; he was asking the teacher if she drove her Jeep Wrangler for instance. Noticing that I was quite amazed, the other teacher started asking him, what does Angela drive, what does Chantelle drive? and so on. He knew all of them. He turns to me and asks, what kind of car do you drive? I answer, a white LeSabre. He looks at me quizzically, "can I see it?" So I walk him to the window and point to my car. He looks for a minute,
"That white Buick?"
"Yep"
"hahahaha!"
"????what?"
"You don't have any hubcaps!!"

Amanda and Paul are getting married!
Shoot, I know I'm late on this anouncement. I didn't update...and I didn't update...and then I figured everyone already knew but I suppose I should still say it! They are getting married three weeks before Jeff and me...way to steal my thunder! Kidding! I am very happy for them!
Sharyn asked:
If you had a choice between eating nothing but ramen noodles for a month, or cutting old people toenails for 2 hours a day and being able to eat whatever you want - which would you choose?
I would definitly choose to cut toenails for 2 hours a day and eat whatever I want! I love to eat and I am so looking forward to being able to cook and try new things when I get married! I guess I could do that now but...well...I'll just wait. A soon-to-be relative of mine has that old person smell. We go to visit him at his house and you just want to scour the entire house and get rid of the smell. The thing is, it is a relatively old house and I'm pretty sure all the carpet and wallpaper is from when it was built. So you'd really have to redo the whole house. On another note, I really don't care too much for ramen noodles, cheap as they may be, they aren't very good for you either. One package has 66% of the daily value of sodium!

Dresses
I went to Fantastic Finds (in Lansing) at the insistance of Cindy yesterday to try on more dresses. I am SO glad I went! I would recommend it to anyone NOT buying a dress! My favorite dress that I tried on was $1400. I had to lie the whole time that I was buying a dress so she asks me if the price is okay and I just say "well, it's a little high but it will be worth it!" As if! People have got to be insane to spend that much! Although...I do know someone who wore that very dress and paid that very amount...hmm...Needless to say I am very thankful to know Marijane! I went to her house afterwards and started planning the dress. Hehe *grin* I'm pretty excited. I just have to go shopping for fabric and probably redesign the bridesmaid dresses. I'm leaning more towards a deep teal-blue color now.

A Little Update
I went shopping yesterday with Kayla and Cindy to find dresses. Our venture out to Novi was very productive! I found my dress, well sort of. Marijane is making it so I found different parts of the dress that I want. We also found the bridesmaid dresses, they will all be the same, Marijane is making them as well. I haven't decided on a color scheme yet, I have to go with Marijane to pick out fabric. I want satin and I'm thinking of yellow or blue but we'll see. I'm not getting stuck on one color yet.
Enjoy the day!
P.S. I'm looking for flat dainty shoes for myself, preferably satin. If you see any in your travels let me know! :)

Wedding and Cards
You can all breath again, I'm still blogging! Tricked ya didn't I?
Well lets see if I can dig up some photos...
Brad and Larissa :)
Hm...so what should we do next?
These kids were positively entranced.
Kirsten squeaked in while we were finishing up dinner and kept talking to Brad and Riss.
The younger girls catching the bouquet. I tried to catch the bouquet with the "big girls," my fingertips brushed it, but alas, I did not catch it. I did hear, however, that Paul caught the garter. ;)
I realize that this is very much unrelated to the other photos but I wanted to show some cards that I made.
Enjoy!
And now, I'm determined to finish the last Harry Potter book tonight so, I'm off!

Updates
First off, Bridget and Trevor still don't have a date set as far as I know. I do know that Trevor is having Jeff (Best Man), his cousin Jeff, and Matt stand. Bridget is having her sisters Kim and Becky stand as well as Heather . I'm not sure which one is the Maid of Honor.
Next, I'm sure you have all heard that Jim and Ann's house as well as Glen and Colleen's house was ruined by the tornadoe last week. Apparantly the storm we got yesterday didn't help any. Jim and Ann's basement was flooded and I can imagine Glen and Colleens wasn't much better. I would absolutly love to help them out but Kayla said their still working with the insurance company so they haven't been able to do much yet. Their is a big clean up day on Saturday so hopefully everything comes through by then. I have a camping trip planned with Jeff's family so unfortunatly I can't make it.

Relay
We had to put on an outfit: clown tie, jacket, sweater, pants, and shoes.
It was, quite obviously, a race. We all helped each other dress. Of course, the shoes were WAY too big as well as everything else so I couldn't keep it up as I ran. Even Shari and Uncle Maurice played. Jeff was probably the best, he didn't get the sweater pulled on all the way and his stomach was showing. It was pretty hilarious. Unfortunatly there isn't a picture as far as I know.

Reunion
This weekend was so much fun. Friday afternoon was "just like old times" hanging out with Annette and Chrissy like we would when we were twelve. After that it was about what I thought it would be knowing full well that I wasn't twelve anymore. I "met" my cousin Luke, I haven't seen him since I was about seven. According to the older kids he hasn't changed a bit. He started a kickball match on Saturday evening with some of the older kids. I wish I had taken my camera...we all started stretching before he got there.
I got to visit quite a bit with my cousin Kelli and her husband Brian which was really nice, considering how much older they are than me. I guess the older you get the closer in age you get. Know what I mean?
And of course I was able to see Jon and Sara, Matt and Emily and kids as well as Paul and Amanda which is always a treat! Paul was actually riding a scooter by the end of the weekend. All of those kids just seem like such "big kids" all of a sudden, especially Janie.
On Saturday we made Hobo Stew. It started with ham and each family added various vegetables or meat. It was very tasty, and very hot. The weather was also hot...and humid but we ate till we were stuffed nonetheless.
Later on, the kids played games, as well as some of the adults. We had relay races and pinata. Luke led (pretty much everything) the little kids (8 and under) in a game where they had to act like animals and find the same animal. He told them so spread out and they more or less ran to the woods, they were a little confused. We all thought it was pretty hilarious.
That night, the Aunts and Uncles all wrote down five facts about themselves and Luke read them out loud at the fire. We all had to guess who was who. That was neat because we learned a few interesting facts about them. Well Grandpa's was nothing new: Loves Grandma, loves grandkids, lives on lake, goes south in the winter, is lazy.
After that, awards were passed out: Biggest family unit present, family with the most cars present, family with the most pets present(there were a LOT of dogs), etc.
Jeff and I left Sunday afternoon so we just spent the day relaxing and trying out the tightrope that Uncle David had made. Gretch could go all the way across forwards and them started walking backwards. The little kids were pretty cute there too.
I heard there were 127 that made it. Only about five out of about 70 grandkids didn't make it. Pretty good numbers if you ask me!
ROAR!!!! I AM ANGRY. IT WILL NOT LET ME UPLOAD PICTURES!
Hopefully it will work later of tomorrow, so sorry to leave you hanging!

Life's little moments
Sometimes my job is so rewarding in the smallest ways. I was headed to the bank today after work and as I stopped at a light a heard the teeniest little "tap-tapping." Puzzled, I looked around and saw a tiny little hand in the window of the car next to me. It took me a moment to recognize the girl in my class but when I did I just couldn't help but grin. She gives me a big "Hi Ms Heidi!!!!" and proceeds to carry on a conversation at a red light. *sigh* you gotta love kids. :)
Jeff and I are Headed up to the reunion bright and early tomorrow. He took off school so now we're leaving at five to have some visiting time before heading off to bed. I'm pretty much pumped for it because I was about 12 last time we had a reunion. Maybe younger...I can't remember. Besides that, we get to see most of the nieces and nephews! We're pretty spoiled this year. We've seen all of them already this year and now we're seeing some again and then we get to see them all AGAIN at Brad and Riss's wedding!

What American accent do you have?
Aw shucks, they got me! And I thought I didn't have an accent.
What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." | |

Haircut
Well there you are, I took them myself so they aren't great but you get the gist of it. And of course they are from after a looong day at work ;) so my hair isn't very "fresh." Oh who am I kidding, it looks great doesn't it?! The layers are up to my ears. It's soooo easy. I went swimming before going to kyds last weekend, let it air dry, used a little wax and voila!

Message from a 12-Year-Old
My new hobby: getting my hair cut. Honestly, it's getting ridiculous! I really do love it this time though and I have to say, everyone else does too. :) I keep hearing that it makes me look older. And this my friend is a good thing when people say you look about 7 years younger than you are.
We went to Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and Treatery as well as Borders for a walking field trip today. Does anyone remember what the temperature was at 2:30? I'm guessing it was about HOT degrees. The kids really seemed to enjoy it though so I guess all things considered it went pretty well. For anyone who has not been to Maggie Moo's (today was my first time) it is similar to ColdStone (but of course nothing beats Cold Stone) and the prices are about the same.

I'm officially moved home as of...er...a week ago. I'm still going about the task of fitting all that stuff into my room however. It seemed like so much less when I had a whole apartment in which to put it! I surrendered my couch to Jeff's house, I figured they'd get more use out of it there until I can use it again. I also let them use my bed (for their guests;). The coffee tables however are just asking too much. They're glass topped so I feel a little better holding on to them myself.
I fear I have gotten into this Harry Potter craze once again. I read the first four books a few years ago and decided to get the fifth. J.K. Rowling really is a great author, I've hardly been able to put the book down. I've decided to buy the series, in hardcover of course. I see it as, if I'm going to put all that money into books they may as well last.
Amanda Kay and Pauly-Wauly are here! This is most exciting, they got in last night. However, they have just left to go shopping so it looks like we won't be seeing them this weekend...kidding but Amanda's looking for a dress for a wedding and we know how that goes. They just don't have any decent dresses these days!
I keep getting all excited about all the scrapbooking I can do now that I'm home (didn't I say that same thing when I moved out?) but just my luck: I ordered pictures last Saturday and they just shipped them on Thursday! *sigh* So I guess I will just have to wait.

Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy birthday to me! I can finally say I'm 19 for real. I have literally forgotten how old I am! I had to stop and think to myself: I'm 19 right? No, no, no, that's right I'm 18. And since I really am only 19 I decided to take the day off from work. It's very nice really. I'm moving home tomorrow so I moved most of my clothes today and spent the day at Mom and Dad's. I decided to come over and clean or something for Mom since every other birthday I've had I didn't really ever do anything for her because it was my birthday too. And then here I am...it's 3:00 and I really haven't done much.
Jeff and I went to Red Robin for dinner last night (yesterday was his last day of summer break from school) for my birthday-you get a free burger if you're a member-and at the table behind us were three little girls from my class at work with their mom's. I think they were a little puzzled to see me outside of "school" and couldn't stop craning their necks to see me.

Baby's blood
A woman walked into work this morning with her son and asked to leave a note for her son's teacher. Apparantly he had gone home the day before saying that he drank blue milk that tastes like baby's blood...Sounds like a flavor of Bertie Bott's jelly beans.
Good news! Jeff is off of school for the next two weeks...up until the day before my birthday, figures huh?
Funny how time flies...
I was able to leave work early today so I came to Mom and Dad's. As I pulled up I noticed some kids milling around the yard and when I walked up to the deck I saw a whole slew of kids sitting on the trampoline and nearly tripped over 30 duffel bags. Turns out confo kids are here today. I remember the girls talking about it early but had forgotten until now. It's just strange, I was in confirmation about five years ago. While I never felt very old while I was in it, looking at all these young kids makes me realize just how young I truly was! But the strangest part of all is that I still clearly recall thinking how old Brad or Amanda's confirmation class was at the time. Nowadays down here, I'm among the oldest at kyds so I guess 14 and 15 is pretty young.

Teacher from the past
Man, have I been slacking on this blogging thing or what?
I saw my 7th grade teacher when I was blogging at the library last week. He's one of those funny guys who's personality fits his looks so as soon as I saw him I bursted out laughing and yelled "SALMETO!!!" So now you have a 60-sum year old man with little circle glasses, bushy gray hair and a tank top (with chest hair poking out the top, no less) shushing me like I'm some sort of madwomen. "We're in a library!" he tells me.
Mr. Salmeto: So you're a H right?
Me: Yeah
S: So how old are you now?
Me: 16, 17, 18, I don't even know anymore, I'm 18
S: What?! 18? Really? So you're graduating this year right?
Me: No, I graduated last year
S: WHAT? YOUR KIDDING!! (note: we're still smack in the middle of the library) he pretends to have a heart attack, turning away, one hand in the air, the other over his heart. Has it really been that long?
Me: laughing I guess so
S: And who were your friends, was that L*ss*l* and K*lp*ll*(that's how he says it), you guys were inseperable (I can't quite figure that one out, we were never in the same class)
Me: Heather and Annette, yep, that would be them
S: Okay, lets go over here we finally head toward the library to avoid all the evil stares So what have you been up to?
Me: Well, I work over at a daycare behind Target now
S: Oh really, tell me some stories
Me: Er...like what?
S: Anything, I'm an english teacher, I need some stories
Me: Oh, yeah, Heather's married now
S: pretends to have a heart attack again. She doesn't have a baby does she?
Me: No, no no, she's just got married this spring.
...
He was great, like this but multiplied by ten when you have him as a teacher. He's the kind of teacher that makes you forget that you're learning.

Water Day!
You know that person that drives you crazy (and not in a good way) and does everything backwards, making no sense whatsoever? Yeah, well I work with her. I just have to keep telling myself two more months, two more months, two more months....Then she'll be gone! Well not forever but I won't have to work with her everyday because she's stepping down.
Anyhoo, we had "water day" at work today. My favorite day. It's crazy right before with getting suits on and getting all sunscreened up, but it's worth it. Picture this: 15 three- and four-year-olds running around with spray bottles, watering cans, and soaker balls. Oh yeah, and a huge beach ball sprinkler shooting out in all directions. Then me, chasing them around and forcing them into the sprinkler. Don't worry, they giggle away the whole time!
And the best part: they sleep soundly for an hour and a half shortly thereafter.
Ah yes...I love Thursdays.

Happy Monday!
The things kids say...(see, I can do this and I don't even have kids) ;)
I had just arrived at work the other day, it was our "water day." (Kids run around in a sprinkler.) The first thing out of the four-year-olds mouth is "Ms Heidi, I forgot my bathing suit today-does that mean I have to run around naked?"
I just got back from Charlie and Marijane's house, it is very lovely. Exactly how I pictured Marijane's house to be. I had called Cindy to see if she wanted some company and they were over there so I finally got to see it. (Jeff and I had been meaning to get out there but we kind of just kept forgetting.)
Have a great day...er...night!

Friday All Week
Man oh man. I have been thinking that it's Friday every day this week. It's really getting old! It's not like this week has been particularly long or trying, I just need a weekend. Actually, I think I just want to see Jeff. Before he started school I saw him every single day. Now it's usually only Fridays and Saturdays. I am just counting down the days til his next break...I think it's in July. Ah, yes, I remember. It ends the day before my birthday! How junky is that?

6 Weird and Unknown Facts About Me
Well here goes, I got this from Jen's blog and actually did learn something about someone that I've literally known my entire life! I'll warn you that some of these may be things that my family already knows or, who knows, maybe they've forgotten about them.
1. I write with my left hand but I do everything else right-handed. Of this I am thankful for. Sure it would be cool to cut left handed and whatnot but come on, how many pairs of left-handed scissors have you seen? The real weird thing however is that I paint right-handed. I'm not a painter you say? Well yeah, you're kind of right, but I do occasionally paint at work, it is a daycare after all. But for a while a few years ago I would play around with watercolors on computer paper and do nature scenes. I wasn't half bad but then I wasn't half good.
2. I wiggle my toes when I get my picture taken barefoot or with sandals on. I don't mean pictures of my feet, I just mean that I've noticed that if my toes are bare, I wiggle them.
3. I know for sure that my family knows this but other people may not know that Jeff is the one and only boyfriend that I've ever had. I have liked him since I was 14 (I think, or maybe right after my 15th birthday). I knew that he liked me for a long time and we were friends but all of a sudden one summer day on the way home from a trip to the U.P. I realized that I really liked this guy. I told him and we started hanging out more, with the two of us and a lot of times with his friends. We would go to football games and play pool, and he'd always pick me up for kyds. I was 15 at the time and Mom did NOT like this. We started going out that fall in October I believe it was but it only lasted a month. We had no intentions of going out again but remained friends although it was a little awkward. Then in June I found out that he was still interested in me and I knew that I had still liked him the entire time and that's why it was so awkward to be around him. We hung out for about a week or so before we were officially dating. It was a month before my 16th birthday (which is the legal dating age in my family). I told my brothers and sisters but Mom wasn't home at the time. She got home a few minutes after I had told them and Molly immediately ran out to tell. Mom said something about how I was too young and Molly piped up with "you were 15 when you started dating Dad!" So now you know. I hope Jeff doesn't mind that I said all of this. :)
4. I talk in my sleep. All the time. I've always known that I do because my brothers and sisters made fun of me for it all the time. I remembered this when I moved out and was a little worried because I share a room with Kayla. I waited for it. And it finally came. "Has anyone ever told you that you talk in your sleep?" Yup, several times in fact. I still don't know if this is true but Wade and Brett told me that one night I got up and started walking around the house like a barbie talking about Santa. Amanda has told me that I would sit up and call for Dad. Kayla said that I mumble things and when she arrived home late one night I smacked my lips like I had just put chap stick on and then looked at her and said "Oh, sorry." If anyone remembers anything else that I've said or done, feel free to comment.
5. I hate talking on the phone. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE talking to you, I just hate the phone. I feel that I need to keep a constant conversation up when I talk on the phone and I can't always do that. And then sometimes, okay, lots of times, when I try to keep a conversation going I can't stop talking and I cut the other person off and talk over them just so there is never even the slightest hint of a lull. For instance, I can go visit Cindy for hours and never be bored and have good conversation the entire time but when I talk to her on the phone, it usually only lasts five or ten minutes because really, we don't have constant chatter. Is this weird? Tell me I'm not the only one who thinks like this.
6. I can cross one eye. Okay I'm really searching for something here. I'm not that weird or unusual. (or am I?) Jeff can't stand it. It's not just goofy like when someone crosses both eyes. It looks sort of...demented. I'll do it for ya anytime if you want to see.

Who are you??
A message to all bloggers:
PLEASE PUT A PICTURE OF YOURSELF ON YOUR BLOG!!
I like to check out other people's friend's blogs but so many times I can't figure out who they are because I can't find their full name anywhere and so many don't put a picture! It's interesting to read, but it's that much more interesting if you know who you're reading about.
Pass it on.

Bathroom
Here's a question: How often should a bathroom be cleaned?
My answer is twice a week.
I just cleaned mine today so the question was in my head.
BTW Clorox wipes don't count.

3 Whole Years
whoops!! I forgot to tell everyone that Jeff and I have been dating for three years now. I, like Manduh, always told people "about three years" but now it's for real. That's a long time huh? We decided to get Three Year Anniversary pictures....
...
Kidding. But I'll probably look back at them and say "This was our third year of dating, my goodness, it feels like yesterday..." (In an old lady voice of course.)

Thanks Sharyn!
As I was typing that title I realized that I probably spell your name wrong! I almost put "Sharon" and realized that it didn't look right.
Jeff and I had our pictures taken by the talented Sharyn Tormanen yesterday. Yes, we were the happy couple believe it or not! ;) I was so impatient to see the pictures considering I don't own a computer so I finally saw them when I got to Mom and Dad's after work. I was very happy about our outfit choices (sounds cheesy, I know) the colors look great. They are awesome! Check them out on Sharyn's blog or go to:
http://sharyntormanen.typepad.com/photos/jeffheidi/index.html
My favorite is number 9. I have to say, I've always liked candid shots over poses. Needless to say I am absolutely pumped to have those pictures since we really don't have any pictures of us together. Sometimes I wish I could hire someone to follow us around during the day and shoot candids, they're so fun!!

Thank Goodness It's Friday!
Whew! The weekend is finally here! This week has just dragged on by and I have been cranky for the most of it so...now I am much better! Plus also, I got this gift card for Chili's that I plan on using!
I am so antsy (sp?) to scrap right now!! I have been waiting for these pictures to come, I was expecting them last week but I gave my apartment address and apparantly I typed it wrong because they didn't show up. Well, they did email and tell me but I waited waaaay to long to check it so I was just getting cranky waiting for them. Buuut now I am waiting again they should be here by Monday. I order through winkflash.com and have been very impressed with them. The first time I ordered I was supposed to get 25 free prints (I'm pretty sure they do this all the time) but I did something wrong and messed it up. I emailed them explaining my problem and they gave me a new coupon code so I could still get them. The only problem is that you sometimes have to wait a week to get them but shipping is only 99 cents ALL THE TIME for 4x6 prints.
I've got to go help Manduh move!

The only problem is that you sometimes have to wait a week to get them but shipping is only 99 cents ALL THE TIME for 4x6 prints.
I've got to go help Manduh move!

Tuesday
I wasn't going to go to Mom and Dad's today. I needed to wash clothes but I was just here yesterday. Buuut....I got out of work, checked my messages and Amanda called, they had hamburgers so I decided to come over after all. Plus also my clothes are still dirty.
Jeff, Maggie, and Shopping
Apparantly Jeff has a blog now but I can't add it to my page because I can't remember the address.
My goodness all you H kids! Maggie is going crazy without you! She gets SO excited whenever we come over and Manduh says she follows her around like a er...puppy.
Breaking news of the day! I was reading an article about whether or not childcare is a good thing and apparantly researchers have said that a child's behavior is more influenced by a parent than by the childcare center. Who'da thunk it?
A boy at work told me the other day: Sometimes it's good to burp, that way you don't get gas.
Amanda, Larissa, and I went on a big shopping expedition yesterday. I drove out to Mom and Dad's, stayed for about half an hour, drove across town to Amanda's, stayed there for about half an hour, and headed back to Brighton. Yes. That is where I live. We went to the Green Oak (new Brighton mall) and went to Old Navy. Riss and I both bought something but not Amanda. We walked along to the next few shops: American Eagle and Aeropostle to name a few. We decided those were all too expensive and went to Target. Jackpot right? Um, no. We walked out empty handed. So much for that. And guess who planned the trip? Amanda. At least I got a shirt out of the deal.

Shannon
My goodness! I didn't realize everyone was so eager to hear about Shannon! Let's see...what makes her cool. Well I think for the most part it is the fact that I really haven't known her for that long but I feel like I've known her forever. She's just one of those girls that you just 'click' with. She seems so happy and she's darn cute. And the fact that she's always saying she wants to hang out with me is pretty cool too! ;) I'll have to get over there more often. Okay, actually let's go back to the wedding. That is truly when I felt like I had found a new friend. I seriously barely knew her yet when we arrived at the church she came right up to me and gave me a hug. I thought that was really nice considering I wanted to give her a hug but I felt kind of awkward because I didn't really know her and all. I think that was the point when I thought, "You know, this is one cool girl!"
I should run, I'm going shopping with Amanda. She moving in a week :(

SORRY!!!!
My goodness, I just don't know what happened!! I haven't been on here in forever. I look at everyone else's blogs and I'm like huh?? What are you talking about? It's like I've fallen off the face of the earth or something. So what's new whats new... a new baby!! Brandon and Cindy had a baby girl on June 1st. (Thats why I haven't been on....okay that won't work will it.) Her name is Alyssa and she is beautiful of course. But stupid me, I didn't take any pictures!! Brandon and Cindy are doing great, they are both just so pumped, it's awesome! Alyssa is doing good, she doesn't cry very much (or she didn't when we were there) and I guess she sleeps for as much as five or six hours sometimes! So needless to say, she's been a pretty good girl so far.
You know who's really cool? Shannon H (married to Eric). I've probably only known her for about a year maybe, and I only really got to know her once she got married. She is a very cool girl!!
Weeellll folks, I've got to get to Eric P's graduation party. Have a great day!!

Memorial Day Weekend
For the most part this weekend's weather was terrible but I think today has made up for it. It is absolutely gorgeous! (So why am I inside?) Jeff and I spent the day on Saturday at his mom and dad's. I mean "spent the day" quite literally. We went over at about 10 and didn't leave till about 10. Jeff had to help his dad put a new liner in their pool; meanwhile, I helped his grandma clean the house (His mom and dad's house). It was a relatively uneventful day except for when Jeff was sprayed in the face by the pool pump (giggle giggle tee hee). After the liner was finished, we called up Bridget and Trevor and went to Jeff's house to visit for a little bit.
On Sunday, we enjoyed some delicious lasagna and bread sticks with Amanda and Paul at her apartment. Afterwards we all went to mom and dad's. I ended up spending most of my time on the computer while most everyone else took a nap.
Finally, today, Monday I went to Jeff's in the morning and we went to Kensington for about an hour and a half. We went there to lay out but got bored pretty fast so we went back to Jeff's. They are planning on having a cook-out sometime today so we visited with Pete and Heidi's, Matt and Lori, Michelle and of course Ed and Wade. The boys played baseball (with a whiffle ball of course) while the girls discussed Jews.
Jeff and I left around 3 and went to mom and dad's where I pulled weeds and Jeff played basketball. We had grilled chicken, steak, and potatoes for supper. It was tasty (okay I'm just guessing that it will be good seeing as how we haven't actually eaten them yet).
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!!
